Hungry Hornets – Meal Swipe Program

Do you have extra meal swipes you won’t use? Do you need some extra help with meals?

If you answered “yes” to either question, please remember Hungry Hornets, as part of the Basic Needs program at K, allows students to donate meal swipes they won’t use to a meal bank which is used to provide meal swipes to students who may need some help ensuring adequate nutrition. To donate or to request meals, please complete this online form.

The Hungry Hornets program also has a refrigerator stocked with “to go” meals – these meals are made fresh each day and utilize food otherwise destined for compost. These meals are designed to support students who can benefit from some extra help with their daily needs; they are available in fridge in Hicks 110.

Leprechaun Spotting: Chemistry

Jerome the leprechaun gnome sat on a table next to a trifold poster with information about the BioChem Club
Jerome the leprechaun gnome sat in top of books placed in a stool wearing black latex gloves and goggles next to a chemistry workspace.

Jerome the leprechaun gnome had always been a mischievous fellow, known for his love of pranks and his penchant for getting into places where he didn’t quite belong. One sunny afternoon, as the chemistry department buzzed with experiments and lectures, Jerome decided to pay them a visit.

With a twinkle in his eye and a bounce in his step, Jerome crept into the laboratory. The chemists, busy at their workstations, didn’t notice the tiny figure darting between shelves and cabinets. He couldn’t resist the temptation to investigate the experiments taking place. With a mischievous grin, he climbed onto the nearest bottle and peered inside. What he saw amazed him – a rainbow of chemicals swirling and mixing, creating mesmerizing patterns.

But his fun was short-lived as he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Panicking, Jerome scampered away, leaving behind a trail of sparkles and laughter. The chemists, puzzled by the sudden burst of activity in their normally quiet laboratory, could only wonder at the strange occurrence.

Leprechaun Spotting: Human Resources

Jerome, the usually lively and mischievous leprechaun, was found in a state of blissful repose. Tucked away in a cozy corner of the Student Activities, his hat slightly askew, and a contented smile on his face, Jerome convinced our Associate Vice President of Human Resources, Renee Boelcke, to take a midday snooze!

As he slept, a tiny rainbow arched over him, each color shimmering with an otherworldly glow. He dreamt of quests, seeking those colorful arcs, each step resonating with the promise of extraordinary treasures. His dreams transform into fields of four-leaf clovers that hold the key to unparalleled luck.

He wakes feeling well-rested and ready to explore more of the campus! Where will he show up next?
